About the event
Special guest, writer and researcher Cindy Elder will be joining us for this September meeting to discuss her extensive research into her husband's ancestors as well as the research into the authentication of a 19th century manuscript narrated by a former slave,
Elder is the author of Tales of the Sea, a two-book series about her husband's ancestors who lived on Cape Cod. Based on the letters found in a box on a porch, she researched his second great-grandfather who was a merchant sea captain and his wife who sailed with him all around the world. The letters between the two and with their families back on the Cape were only the beginning of Cindy Elder's deep dive into genealogical research.
In addition, there was a second box of letters on that same porch which included an incredible manuscript - or narrative - by a former slave named Thomas White.…
